Day 3 & 4

Sorry there wasn't a post yesterday...but I was away from the office and my computer most of the day.

Not that anyone has been here to comment anyway! :)

So Day 3...Luke 19:1-9

1. What were Zaccaeus' priorities and goals as a tax collector before meeting Jesus?

Like many tax collectors of his time, his goal was to make as much money as possible. He could charge whatever he wanted for taxes and pocket the extra. This made him a very rich man...but not a well liked one.

2. What kind of blessings did Jesus bring instead?

Salvation and wanting to spend time with Zaccaeus. Did you notice the Bible tells us he lead Jesus to his house with "excitement and joy." Wow! Do we do that? Do we share that excitement with others? Hmmm.........

3. What kinds of blessings do you assume you will get out of life?

I think we find these blessings in small ways and can be so busy we don't see/notice them (like we talked about on Sunday). Friends, family, our church, youth group, the sunset, etc. are also blessings I believe we think God will give us.

dictionary.com defines blessing as: a special favor, mercy, or benefit

4. DREAM BIG-what more might God want to give you?

Ooooo...I need to think on that one!

Day 4:

So tell me...how do YOU describe the life Jesus promises in John 10:10. I really want to know!

John 4:1-26 The Woman at the Well

Today we were asked to read the story of Jesus and the woman at the well and answer some questions.

1. What sources of "water" had she used to try and fill her life?

The one mentioned are being married 5 times and living with a man who is not her husband. She was using relationships with these men to try and fill her life. Obviously that hadn't been working out to well for her!

2. What kind of water did Jesus offer her instead?

Jesus offered the woman "living water." He offered her the opportunity to have everlasting life.

3. How does her life parallel (how is her life similar) ways your life usually works?

There are times when my job(s) and other stuff pull my focus away from having Jesus "fill me up." It can be easy to go from one thing to the next and forgetting that Jesus is right there...waiting to give me His living water.

I look forward to reading what you have to say!

Today you were asked to write down everything you are doing this week and who the activity is for. What did you write down?

How can you love God and love others through those activities?

Please comment and let me know!
